Course Description

In order to build, modify, supervise, or lead scaffold construction, the Swedish Work Environment Authority (AFS 2004:4) requires that you have sufficient and up-to-date knowledge – and that this knowledge is documented. This course provides exactly that.
Our online scaffolding course gives you all the knowledge required to work as a scaffolder.

How It Works

  • Immediately after your purchase, you’ll gain access to the online course and can begin the theory at your own pace

  • The theoretical part is 100% online and can be completed whenever it suits you best

  • The estimated time to complete the theory is approximately 2–4 hours

  • After passing the final test, you will receive a digital certificate right away, and your physical card will be sent to your mailbox within 2 business days

Who Is the Course For?

This course is intended for anyone who builds, modifies, supervises, or manages scaffolding work.

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge or experience is required.

With a general scaffolding training course online – also known as “Scaffolding – General Training (2–9 meters)” – you are qualified to build scaffolding up to a height of 9 meters from the ground. The course covers the fundamental safety aspects as well as how to erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding safely. If you plan to build scaffolding higher than 9 meters, you will need a more advanced course, such as “Scaffolding Assembly 9–24 meters” or a “Scaffolding Supervisor Training.”
In Sweden, scaffolding work is regulated by the Swedish Work Environment Authority. To ensure a safe working environment and comply with laws and regulations, it is recommended to have the appropriate training when building and working with scaffolding. There are different types of scaffolding training courses, each covering various heights and levels of complexity. For scaffolding up to 2 meters, no specific training is required. However, it is important to be aware of safety risks and follow basic safety guidelines. For scaffolding between 2 and 9 meters, general scaffolding training is recommended.
To build scaffolding with weather protection, it is important to have the appropriate training and competence to ensure a safe working environment and comply with laws and regulations in Sweden. The following training courses may be relevant when working with scaffolding that includes weather protection: Basic Scaffolding Training: Depending on the height of the scaffolding, a course such as “General Scaffolding Training (2–9 meters)” may be required. These courses provide the fundamental knowledge for safely erecting and assembling scaffolding, including safety aspects and regulatory requirements. Weather Protection Training: To add weather protection to a scaffolding structure, it may be necessary to complete a dedicated weather protection training course. This ensures proper installation and handling of weather protection systems in accordance with safety standards.
In Sweden, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that a scaffold is safe to use and complies with applicable laws and safety regulations. Before a completed scaffold can be put into use, it should be inspected and approved. The inspection and approval can be carried out by the following individuals: Scaffolding Supervisor (Montageledare): A scaffolding supervisor is someone with the appropriate training and competence in scaffolding construction. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the scaffolding work and ensuring that the structure meets all requirements and safety standards. The supervisor may also inspect and approve the scaffold. Qualified Person: A qualified person is someone with adequate training, experience, and knowledge in scaffolding and safety procedures. This person is authorized to inspect and approve the scaffold and ensure it complies with all relevant regulations and safety standards. After the scaffold has been inspected and approved, a written report or documentation should be issued to confirm that the scaffold is safe to use. This documentation should be made available to everyone working with the scaffold and kept throughout the duration of the project. If any modifications are made to the scaffold, a new inspection and approval must be carried out before it is used again.
After successfully completing and passing the scaffolding training, you will receive a digital certificate issued immediately upon completion, as well as a plastic certificate card sent to your mailbox within a few working days. You will also receive documented proof of competence in accordance with Swedish regulations, allowing you to work with scaffolding up to the approved height level. This documentation serves as official evidence that you have the required knowledge and qualifications to work safely with scaffolding.
